Menudo

To most people this might look like a bad idea..... But to me it looks like comfort in a can. And boy could I use some comfort this week. Being from Las Cruces NM, menudo is something that is a staple of any menu. Whenever I am home I make sure to eat as much as possible, so when I saw this at my local (Orlando FL) Winn Dixie I knew I had to try it. Not bad at all, of course I added diced onion, a squeeze of lime and oregano but I was pleasantly surprised. Not bad at all:)

day 2 meal 1

my breakfast :) leftover salad from yesterday, a little cucumber and pineapple to offset the pork I had yesterday.

I didn't take a picture because I was cooking for an event and just making sure it tasted right. nothing substantial.

33oz of cold water and maybe a bowl of cereal(special k and almond milk) if I still need something.

I should mention that according to 4 hr body, dairy is a no-go, wheat and rice no-go, fruit no-go. so maybe no cereal

food diary

My seester and I started this food blog thingy because we love food. obviously.  But of course that day I noticed a pudge below my belly button or a FUPA to some. This is not okay. So in addition to food reviews I'm also going to highlight my diet. I just recently learned of the 4 hr body and now you're going to learn about it too. First steps measurements and food diary.

To start, a virtual food diary.  Taking pics or jotting down what you eat throughout the day will make you more aware of it. Additionally, posting it online will give you more accountability.  I know I don't want anyone knowing I ate a half a tub of ice cream...maybe that's just me. This probably wont work if you literally have no shame.

My first meal of the day (11:22am) a little late...ok a lot late considering I woke up at 8 and you're supposed to eat within an hour of waking up. You're also not supposed to eat fruit. I fail there. I love pineapple.

first thing I ate today was a slice of pineapple

but I digress

My first meal
butter beans, baked chicken thigh, and a salad( tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, seasoning, honey, balsamic vinaigrette)

King Kong Sushi

chicken salad cabbage tacos

there's a very good chance I won't remember what was in this beyond the fact that it was good.

A not so heavy take on a chicken salad sandwich.

red cabbage shells filled with shredded chicken breast (pre roasted), grapes, onions, green beans, orange bell pepper and onions.  Sautee everything in a skillet season to taste.  drizzle with Italian dressing and honey

What is your favorite local place to eat??

There is a Spanish buffet near my house.. not Spanish like tapas or Spanish like tacos but Spanish like PUERTO RICO!!! btw Latin/Spanish hardly describe anything in my book any who The food is DEEELICIOUS and I have come to the conclusion that they are making a killing at this place. The buffet costs 6 bucks and they serve foods like gizzards, liver, tripe(beef and pork) and pigs feet (stewed not pickled and they're delicious! don't judge me!!) They serve the popular things like chicken, pernil and arrozo con gandules, but the majority of their buffet is very in expensive meats cook to perfection. This just might be the secret to a restaurants success... They are really on to something. If you are every in Orlando FL stop by the Spanish buffet on Oakridge rd (so good I don't even know the name) WHATS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANT?? A PLACE WHERE THE FOOD IS SO GOOD YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME?? hmmmm
